About Me
Hello!!! Everyone my name is Mr Michalec. I am going into my thrid year of teaching, my second here at Alpharetta. Before here I was teaching in New York at Comsewgoue High School, where I taught Global History. I will also be coaching lacrosse in the spring. I received my BA in Social Sciences at Dowling College and I received my Master's at Molloy College. These institutions and coursework gave me insight into best practices.
I am very passionate about Social Studies education as I see these ideas and skills as “what we will do for the rest of our lives.” I ask my students to rise to the challenges, even when they feel it’s too hard, be able to pose thoughtful questions of analysis, and ask for help when they need it. I hope they bring their sense of adventure to take risks in their learning, and a sense of humor to help make it more enjoyable.
